Here’s what we’re all about. We're a community passionate about what Jesus did for us on the cross, we’re learning to live more like Jesus, and we want to share it with those around us.

The Gospel. Maybe that word brings up memories of church when you were growing up, or maybe it's just a churchy word that your grandmother used every now and then. But in Chi Alpha, it's the core of who we are.

The word 'gospel' just means 'good news.' And we believe that the news about Jesus coming to earth, living a perfect life, dying the death we deserved in our place, and rising again to defeat death for us is the best news of all.

Jesus is the reason we're full of joy and hope. No, we don't think we're perfect. Far from it, in fact. We mess up, we're selfish, we're critical, we're too hard on ourselves and one another. But we believe that Jesus offers forgiveness from all of that and, ultimately, freedom from it as well.

It won't happen overnight, but over a long time, we believe Jesus is working alongside us and in us to make us more like him and give us a new life.

What does that mean for you?

Whether you’re a Christian or not, we want to be a community where you can ask honest questions and make meaningful friendships. In short, we’re here to be your home away from home. There’s only one way to find out what God wants to do in your life at NC State, and that’s to get connected to a deep community. Who might you become?

Deep Friends

Friendship takes effort, but it's worth the investment. To grow in our faith, we need each other. As we grow in our relationship with God, our friendships go deeper as we learn to love, forgive, challenge and support each other.

Devoted Disciples

In John 15, Jesus tells his disciples that unless they abide (or remain) in him, they can do nothing. We take that seriously. Our goal is not just to know what God's word says but to put it into practice in our daily lives as well.

Deliberate Servants

Jesus said when we serve the poor, the hungry and the oppressed, we are really serving Him. Together, we're learning to love our neighbor no matter who that may be. When we serve, we show who Jesus is to those who've never heard.
